SYNOPSIS
Oracle’s 9i OCM (Oracle Certified Master) DBA (Database
Administrator) certification is an advanced-level certification that is targeted toward
Oracle9i DBA OCPs with 3 - 4 years of professional Oracle experience.
The Oracle 9i OCM was introduced in late 2001. The prerequisite for this
certification is holding an OCP (Oracle Certified Professional) certification.
This
certification is well suited to IT personnel, with titles such as data
warehouse architect, and data-mining expert. The Oracle 9i OCM designation is
achieved by holding an OCP certification, taking two advanced
DBA courses from Oracle University, and taking a two full-day
long practicum
exam.
Although
Oracle certification paths eventually retire, you may continue to use a retired
designation as it denotes the version of Oracle it is associated with. Also,
Oracle normally provides a one exam upgrade to a newer version of a particular
certification. Helpful: Compare Oracle9i OCM with other certifications Search: Find Articles for Oracle9i OCM
