lots of information to remembe

This exam has a very wide variety of topics. The concepts aren't too confusing, but there is a lot of stuff that just plain has to be memorized. Lots of questions on auditing and security. About half multiple choice, half "select all that apply", and 4 or 5 interactive "drag stuff on the screen to the right places" questions. Not a single simulation (which Microsoft has just started to put into some tests, according to their web site).
There is a lot of bogus training stuff out there. This website's studdy guide was pretty good. I highly recommend the SelfTest practice exam with included flashcards (www.selftestsoftware.com). Out of several practice tests I looked at, it was by far the closest to the real thing. Going through all 210 questions and thoughouly reading the explainations was the most usefull study tool for me. After doing this, the test turned out to be about exactly what I expected.
A nice surprise

Much easier than 70-270
Somewhat confusing
alansaysyo on Monday, March 20, 2006
Scored 805 in about 90 minutes. Very few of the questions were simple... lots of scenarios with mostly useless information to confuse you, even if you really know the subject matter. Some questions have easy solutions, but present answer choices so bogus that you'll be tricked into reconsidering. Luckily, you have way more than enough time to read and answer the long questions. Questions didn't reflect MS' published exam objectives very well; many of the questions are quite plainly from objectives listed for 70-218, not 70-215. Studying for both exams just to take this one will make it much easier. MeasureUp practice tests are generally useful, but not so much this time around. PrepLogic covered most of the basic stuff well.
70-215 pass on 1st Attempt...

Was expecting this to be much worse than 70-210 but in actual fact the questons were what I expected and I studied well although in the exam, my system crashed at very end and I lost the last 3 questions so they went unanswered(!) but still passed with 775. would have been 835 but tthere u go. As long as you study moderately you can get this no bother but main core study areas for me were: Disk management especially dynamic disks, volumes, raid, DHCP, GSNW, network printing,GPO's, IIS was a big one had about 5 questions from the start on IIS virtual dirs and I thought that was only bit I hadnt studied proper for but I was confident once answered them that got them right so pleased. Used sybex study guide book 2nd edition and transcender for 70-215 although I was annoyed my system crashed with 4 mins and 3 questions to go but it came back at 1 min to go but I ran out of time so never got them scored!! Don't be scared of this one just do bulk of studying on above at least then som

Easy examn thnx to Testking :)
Easiest of all the MCP exams

This is the best "starter" MCP exam for entry level certification. I'm writing my review late (as an MCSA), but wanted to comment on how easy this exam is. I know a few engineers who are afraid to take this exam and I cannot express to them enough how common knowledge this exam is. RAID and some permissions stuff, but all is pretty basic knowledge. If you study for Win2k Pro exam at the same time, there is lots of overlap between the two exams. You could probably take them both on consecutive weekends. I pass them both in the same month. Don't be afraid of this one, but don't get over confident either.

This one was a tough exam, but it is passable. I passed today with a 715, with moderate studying. I didn't study quite as much as I did for 70-210, which was a mistake, but I was still able to make it through.
DNS is the big subject in this one. Know it well. That, and disk management, networking, DHCP, and security. RRAS is also a big topic. I had nothing on DFS, and a few on GPO.
2000 Server exam

Did the 70-215 yesterday with a pass of 910. I don't know what all the hype was about, the exam wasn't that difficult. I read through other peoples reviews and was expecting a monster, but as I said it was quite average. I used Transcenders and TestKings to prepare, and the obvious...study!
Tough but passable

Warning for those interested in passing Exam 70-215 and have no experience with Win 2K Server: come to the test well prepared. It seems like the test has been revamped, as only 3 or 4 questions were recognizable from the Exam Simulators you can purchase online. I passed by the skin of my teeth upon the first trial, and this is after reading 3 books on the topic and thoroughly going over 3 different sets of practice questions purchased. Many of the questions looked recognizable at first but were tweaked so they were actually different from those you might recognize from MCSE 70-215 textbooks and practice questions. Make sure you really know the topics covered in the class, but don't be scared to attempt this one.
