The exam was not as hard as I thought it would be, but did cover all the areas that Novell specifies in their test objectives. I read through course material, and installed Netware 6 & 6.5 a few times. Also went through some practice questions and the Cramsession listed here as well.
Not bad, considering.....

I didn't find the exam to be that hard considering I never used the product. I used Netware 4 and 5 a fair bit, but I never used Netware 6. To pass the exam, I bought the official Novell Education kit, and purchased selftest softwares Novell Upgrade to Netware 6. I read the book, wrote 3 chapter reviews for all the new stuff, and installed the product once. After that I did used Sefttest to give me an idea of the types of questions. Becareful with the questions. Some of the questions are similiar to Selftest, but just reworded or given to you in a different method. In other words, don't remember answers, remember why there correct.

Not many surprises. 65 questions, 632 needed to pass. Not many exibits, mostly multiple guess. I used the Novell authorized study guide and Self Test practice software. The study guide doesn't leave much out and I would highly recommend Self Test. I don't use NW 6 now but I do use eDir 8.6.2 and NW 5.1 with NSS, that helped too.

I work with NW 6 daily and I prepared for 3 days using Cyber Pass and the course manual. Started at 1:00 and had my results and in my car at 1:18. I used VUE and I only got 65 questions not the 75 stated here. Most of the questions were very general and nothing got into too much specifics. There was only one trick question where you had to read the question carefully to determint if you were supposed to pick the ones that applied or didn't apply. Other than that I now have my CNE upgraded.

I have prepared from books but test was more difficult than CNE 5 track and more difficult than I expect. Very detailed questions.
