The 70-272: Supporting Users and Troubleshooting Desktop Applications on a Microsoft Windows XP Operating System covers topics such as email accounts, newsgroups, application security, name resolution, and security permissions.

The MCDST exams will not include labs or a practicum, but exams may include various innovative testing technologies to present a more realistic visual representation of the products and skills on which you are being tested so that your exam experience more consistently reflects the types of tasks you might perform on the job.

Beginning with the release of the Microsoft Windows Server™ 2003–related exams, Microsoft requires a minimum passing score of 700 on all exams. The maximum score on the exams will vary depending on the complexity of the skills being measured. There are 50 questions and the exam last 90 minutes.

Did okay and got in the high 700's. Gotta to have working knowledge of all the apps. Note that I wasn't a big Outlook fan. :)

846 in almost the entire allotted timeframe. Unlike the course for 70-271, the official MS course WILL teach you what you need to know for this exam. Explore the tools->options in MS Word and IE6 (as stated in the official objectives) and you're already halfway there.

Study Duration: 2 weeks Intense Study: 1 week. Believe it or not, this exam seemed more difficult than 271, but my score was 840 or so. I would rate this exam's difficulty right along w/Network+, except without the inconsistancies. Used MS Press book for study, and like the 271 the book lacked a lot of content that was on the test. Recommend actualtests.com PDF, and Exam Cram 2 study guide if I had to do it again.

Untitled Document > Persistent Group Chat: An Approach for More Profitable Team Communications : Unlike email, instant messages (IMs) do not allow group communication; nor do they persist -- you can't hold on to them for as long as you wish. Persistent group chat, however, allows businesses to organize persistent dialogue around business-critical topics, and keep them for easy retrieval later.
