SYNOPSIS LPIC1- Linux Junior Level
LPI’s exam 102, “Junior Level Administration Part 2”
is a core requirement for the LPIC1 (Linux Professional Institute) - Junior
Level Administration certification. This entry level exam is designed for
junior Linux administrators and “covers basic system administration
skills that are common across all distributions of linux.”
There is no specific prerequisite for this exam.
This exam is moderately difficult and costs $100 USD
in most locales. “In Japan and in the EU the cost
changes based on the fluctuation of currencies.” The exam is offered in English
and “some time ago we [LPI] created Japanese translations of our exams ... and
we are considering doing a German translation in the near term. If you believe
there is sufficient demand for a translation to a specific language please help
us to identify this need and we will consider it.” The exam may be taken from Pearson Vue or Thomson Prometric.
The
pass score for this form-based multiple choice exam is 490 out of a range of
200 to 800, but this is subject to change. There are 56 questions and the exam
lasts 90 minutes.
