I recommend this course it covers the basics Very well, Know your Samba server topics which stummped me a little beware this test is not a gimme. |

   Pretty Basic Exam | indigo258 |

| Like most Comptia exams, Linux+ covers the basics and covers them well. Used the Sybex Linux+ book to study for XK0-002. |

   XK0-002 is harder than XK0-001 | milliamp |
 |
| CompTIA recommends 12 months experience rather than 6 for the new exam. Most of the Linux+ cert books might help you fill in the gaps, but you are going to need some experience for the new exam. Linux+ is no longer a free lunch. |

Know your networking configs | Stealthy |
 |
| The exam was pretty much what I expected. I was surprised that detailed network configuration questions were presented. Also know how to setup a cron job. Other than that, know the basics and you should do well. |

Just covers the basics | jeetkuen |

| No trickiness in this test, just straightforward questions about the basics of Linux OS, hardware, and networking. |

   Not Difficult | cczitsom |
 |
| The recommended requirements of A+ I would say is optional, but 6 months+ experience is very useful. I have 3+ years Linux experience (server & desktop) and found most questions were based on day to day experience. |

Experience is the key | MrIT |
 |
| Passed the exam, wasn't too hard. Have 2 yrs. Linux experience and use it every day which helped a lot. Used the Linux+ Certification Bible, John Wiley and Sons, Trevor Kay, 2002. Could have passed without the book! |
