SYNOPSIS • MOS 2003 ^vs
The Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) exam, Access 2003, is a core requirement for the MOS: Office 2003 Editions track certification. “Microsoft Office Access 2003 Specialist certification is intended for students and information workers whose responsibilities include the use of Microsoft Office Access to organize, structure, and manage data in organizations of every size.” There is no prerequisite for this exam.

MOS exams are performance based, requiring you to perform a series of tasks using a simulated version of Microsoft Office Access 2003.

This exam has 15-20 questions involving 30-45 tasks. The number of questions depends on the exam form you are administered. This exam has a maximum allowed time of 50 minutes. One to three points are possible per question, depending on the number of specified tasks. At the conclusion
of an exam, your final score is derived by converting the task score to a 1000-point scale.

This exam is easy and the cost for it varies but is generally around $60 USD. It may be taken at your nearest iQCenter.

The time limit is the scariest thing about this test. I only started working with access one week ago and I passed the test with a 906 today (minimum passing score was 630). Practice working with tables, queries, forms, and reports (for most, you just need to know how to go through the wizards) and you'll be fine.

Having not a whole lot experience with MS Access 2003 or any for that matter, made it real difficult. As s matter of fact I failed it twice.
