SNRS Exam 642-502: Securing Networks with Cisco Routers and Switches
E X A M   D I F F I C U L T Y
SYNOPSIS CCSPvs
The Securing Networks with Cisco Routers and Switches exam is one of the exams associated with the Cisco Certified Security Professional certification. Candidates can prepare for this exam by taking the SNRS v1.0 course. This exam includes simulations and tests a candidate's knowledge and ability to secure networks using Cisco routers and switches.
Cisco does not publish the pass score for this exam, which can include these types of questions: multiple-choice single answer, multiple-choice multiple answer, drag-and-drop, fill-in-the-blank, and simulations. The exam has between 60 and 70 questions and lasts 90 minutes.
The topics covered by this exam include:
Implement Layer 2 security
Configure Cisco IOS Firewall features to meet security requirements
Configure Cisco IOS-based IPS to identify and mitigate threats to network resources
Configure basic IPSec VPNs to secure site-to-site and remote access to network resources
Configure authentication, authorization, and accounting to provide basic secure access control for networks
Use management applications to configure and monitor IOS security features
Considering the relatively complex study-material by Cisco Press, the exam was easy. I recieved 63 Q's where 2 of them were sims, 1 was a simlet and 2 drag-&-drops, and I was surprised by the small amount of certificated-based VPN-questions. I passed with a score of 1000/1000.

There were 63 questions, I passed with 965, the minimun is 860. There were 3 simulators and 3 drag and drop.
A lot of questions asking about commands. Try to practice with simulators. Good look.
SECUR Rip off.

Passed on March 7th with a mark of 965. I wrote the old SECUR examination about 6 months ago. This SNRS exam is basically the same thing. So as long as you know what it is talking about, then you won't have too much of a headache during the exam.
