SYNOPSIS
CompTIA’s Home Technology Integrator (HTI+)
certification is for technicians servicing the automated home industry. Individuals with at least one to two years experience in
the following business areas would benefit from becoming HTI+ certified:
information technology, building trades, electricians, HVAC installers,
audio/video integrators and home security technicians.
The HTI+ is a vendor-neutral certification that was introduced
in November 2002. The HTI+ consists of two exams: the HT0-101, Residential
Systems; and the HTO-102, Systems Infrastructure and Integration. There are no
prerequisites for the HTI+, but CompTIA recommends having the A+ and Network+
certifications. Like other CompTIA offerings, once a person achieves the HTI+,
the certification will not expire.
