Oracle has frequently changed the number of questions and how
many you need to answer correctly to pass the 9i tests – visit their
website for the latest details before you take the exam:

To pass any of the Oracle exams, study exam-oriented books,
get hands-on experience, and take sample practice tests. Consider classroom
training if you are new to the subject.

Recommended certification books to study for this exam are:
OCP Oracle9i Database: Fundamentals I Exam Guide, by
Jason Couchman et al (Osborne:McGraw-Hill, 2002), ISBN: 0072195401.
OCA/OCP Oracle9i DBA Fundamentals I Study Guide, by
Thomas and Bryla (Sybex, 2002), ISBN: 0-7821-4063-7.
Hands-on:
Preferably you can get this experience at work. If not, you
can get a copy of Oracle with a limited license to install under Windows, Linux,
or Unix from any number of books you’ll see on the shelves at B.
Dalton’s or Barnes and Noble.
Alternatively, you can also download the Oracle database from
Oracle Corp at www.oracle.com, by selecting
the Downloads option. Also, you can get it from Oracle Corp’s TechNet
website at
http://technet.oracle.com.

Self Test Software has excellent exam-specific questions you
can order for less than $99 per exam from
www.selftestsoftware.com.
These two books are great sources of test questions; however,
at the time of writing, they have not yet come out in 9i versions:
Oracle 8i: Certified Professional DBA Practice Exams,
by J. Couchman (Oracle Press, 2001), gives you 15 sample tests with over 1,000
questions.
OCP: Oracle8i DBA Virtual Test Center, by Sybex
(editor) (Sybex, 2001, ISBN 0782130097), contains over 1,000 questions, for all
exams, on CD.
