EXAMS: STUDY TIPS

Relates to: LPIC1- Linux Junior Level
There are three levels of LPI certification. Details of Level 1 certification
are as follows:
Requirements:
To complete Level 1, candidates must complete two exams:

Exams:
101: General Linux I
This exam tests basic capabilities in these areas:

GNU & Unix commands

Devices, Linux File Systems, Filesystem Hierarchy Standard

Boot, Initialization, Shutdown, Run Levels

Documentation
-
Administrative Tasks
102: General Linux II
This exam tests basic capabilities in these areas:

Hardware & Architecture

Linux Installation and Package Management
-
Kernel
-
Text Editing, Processing, Printing

Shells, Scripting, Programming, Compiling

X Networking Fundamentals
-
Networking Services
-
Security
Preparing for this exam will require a thorough knowledge of Linux installation,
configuration, networking services and security. LPI 102 is currently in beta;
however, it still counts towards Level 1 LPI certification.
