Tweak memory in Microsoft Word
System resources are precious and can be taken up quickly. While new
computers come out with more memory, new applications that are created have a
tendency to be resource hogs that eat up RAM like. Therefore, knowing any
means of saving memory & resources is important. There are several ways
of conserving memory using Microsoft Word:
Work in Normal View as
much as you can, since it is the least memory intensive, unlike Page Layout,
Print Layout, and Web Layout. Turn off any unnecessary toolbars. Turn
off Background Printing. Turn off Fast Saves. Embed only the fonts
needed for the current document.
Novice users aren't usually aware of
how important it is to enhancing system performance. You can change the view
simply by going to View | Normal, and that other setting changes can be made
via Tools | Options.
