The 2003 version of CompTIA's Project+ exam entered beta in July and is now live. Those who had hoped to pass the Project+
exam based on the 2001 objectives may still do so until December 31, 2003. One way the exam focus has changed is that it
"explores in greater detail the candidate's familiarity of project management tools, such as schedulers, spreadsheets, and
databases."
The other major change in the exam is as follows: "The exam also takes the whole issue of getting people to make decisions
in a timely manner. So many times on projects, the project manager is hindered by key people who do not make timely decisions.
Now the IT Project+ certified professional will have to demonstrate a knowledge and awareness of keeping an issues log in order
to monitor and close issues and how to help people reach decisions."
Here are some exam details:
It is 90 minutes long and consists of 80 identification and situational multiple choice questions
The minimum passing score is 499
The cost of the exam varies depending on where you reside and your CompTIA membership status. The range is from $93 to $225 USD
